LISPY In-depth Studies

Building upon LISPY’s 200-hour Foundations program, The LISPY School offers an additional In-Depth training program of over 100 hours (72 hours of workshops*, 20 hours to create a community yoga project, and 8 hours of mentorship). Learn to develop clinical and technical skills and gain In-Depth knowledge for working with groups and individuals using PY methods

Each module consists of three weeknight sessions: Tues, Wed, Thurs: 6pm-9pm. Located at The LISPY School, 3303 Lee Parkway Suite 330 Dallas, TX 75219.

*Taught by lead trainers Laura Abbott-Coan and Noel Baker, alongside guest instructors from the clinical community. 

Prerequisites: Currently enrolled in, or an alumni of the LISPY 200-Hour Foundations of Psychotherapeutic Yoga clinician training program.

NOTE:  Due to programming changes, students who completed the LISPY 200-Hour Foundations of Psychotherapeutic Yoga Training prior to September 2019 will need to audit the following weekends from the updated LISPY 200-Hour Foundations program: ($99 per weekend)

Program pricing: $2250

Any missed modules in the current schedule may be made up in the next program ~ beginning March 2020

Individual modules can be purchased as a stand-alone course for $250.

Trauma in the Therapy Room

We will dive into an understanding on what trauma is and its effect on our mental health, as well as the physical and emotional body.  Gain an understanding of the Polyvagal Theory in practice and learn how to safely engage students with body and breathwork as a coping skill for trauma growth.

Learn the ins and out of how our brain functions and interprets the world. Yoga and mindfulness have a profound effect on our brain health, learn why an understanding of how our brain works is an essential component to mental health and wellbeing.

Components of Private vs Group Yoga 

Many teachers feel comfortable in a group or studio setting, but entering the world of private sessions can be daunting. Learn how to facilitate a psychotherapeutic group yoga class and an individual yoga class with confidence and grace as we dive into the practical how-to’s of private and group yoga teaching.

Gain an understanding of these energetic symbol systems and where they intersect with our personalities.  Learn how to conceptualize your client through the lens of yoga wisdom and apply appropriate tools to create change.

We will go deep into the breath as an art and science learning breath ratio and specific techniques to energize, calm, and balance.  The foundation of breath centric asana will be unpacked in this In-Depth Study providing you a systematic way to work with your clients in the yoga and therapy room.
